Things to remember

A good night's sleep is well worth it. But if you must regain a proper sleeping schedule, an all-nighter is one of the few ways that works. Although you wish you hadn't gone through with it at least a couple of times. And then some. (:

Future rules for being me.

Dear me,

Each of these rules were hard-won and therefore should be fucking followed.

1. Do not rely on people
I know this goes against every instinct you have. But try and follow my line of reasoning. You like people, and that's all good and great, but you also assume, gods know why, that they are willing to do the same things for you that you are willing to do for them. THIS IS NOT SO. And even if you acknowledge that they have different priorities, you think they will find a way to make you one of them should you really need it. NO! BAD ME! People will do what they want to do. The end. Sometimes they want to help you, sometimes they don't. It has little to do with you. If you want something done, do it yourself. That's it.

2. Decide differently
We all know that you can't make decisions. You have known this from a young age - every decision you make seems to be a wrong one. Well, how about you DECIDE DIFFERENTLY then?! Every time you think something is stupid or daft or not worth doing, DO IT! I can't believe you still don't see how this works. And while we're on the subject:

3. Do stupid things

Okay, you might think this silly, but you don't do enough stupid things. Why should you? Because they're fun. Because they're something to talk about. Because, YOU KILL YOUR SOUL A LITTLE EVERY FREAKING TIME YOU DON'T! And remember, speaking from experience here?! Death is stable. You do NOT need stability!

4. If you decide on something, do it
This might seem like a given, but I know for a fact you don't follow it. In fact, every time you think "A" would be a good idea, you get distracted and do "B to Q" instead. STOP IT! DO "A" AS WELL! I don't care if you think you have time for it later. Do it now, then it's done.

5. Don't feel sorry for yourself
The world owes you nothing. You have this wonderful, amazing chance to live in it. Use it then! Use it as much as possible and see how awesome it truly can be. Feeling sorry leads to hiding in your room, not wanting to meet anyone. That's no way to live. It poisons your mind. DO NOT LET IT!

6. Do not get discouraged/overwhelmed
Easier said than done, I'm sure. But take things in steps. Trick your brain into not looking beyond that first step. That's how you get things done. Just begin. And then keep at them. Easy! Take the first step. And sometimes, if that requires a leap of faith, jump.

That's all for today. As you know, we aren't getting along all that well at the moment, following a violation of several of the aforementioned rules. But as long as I promise to follow these rules, I think we can make a fresh start.

PS. If you think letters to myself are odd, you ain't seen nothin' yet!
